2011 Hyundai Lease Rates – January 2011

I’m quite happy that Hyundai has actually been provided some great lease rates over the past year. I think its a smart move on their part since leasing is probably one of the quickest ways to get their cars out there on the road and get some of that coveted US market share. Over the nearly three years that I have been maintaining this blog, I have seen Hyundai go from a brand that folks didn’t trust (I’m was one of them) to a brand that people are actually looking to lease (I’m one of them as well). Quite the turn around if you ask me. There isn’t anything here I wouldn’t lease, so if you don’t mind getting into a Hyundai, any one of them will do. One thing that is disappointing is that according to TrueCar, sale prices have gone up about 3% lately. I was seeing 10% off MSRP in Nov/Dec. Now is around 6%-7%.

2011 Nissan Lease Rates – January 2011

Before we begin, the following lease rates are for entry-level models. If you are looking for a more “optioned” model, you will probably pay more. With that said, it looks like the Sentra remains a good deal despite a 1% drop in residual value because the MF was dropped to balance things out. The Murano also dropped 1%, but the bank apparently didn’t change the MF, so payments may end up a bit more than last month (however it all depends on the final sale price). Overall, I think there are some good leases here since residual values are so high in some of these models, specially on the Sentra S.

Did you know that Infinitis are the second most popular leases on this website? Not surprising since they boast one of the best “bang-for-the buck” leases around. Like the 2010 model, this year G37 Sport Coupe MT has one of the best balances between residual value and money factor. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of TrueCar sales data to get a good idea of what the sale price will be. However, I am willing to bet that it remains a strong lease regardless. The G25 is also a great lease right now if you don’t need the power (and gas consumption) of the G37.

This month’s numbers are improved from last month. However, that’s not to say they are great (they are okay if you stick with the IS250). The MF has come down some what, but could still use a little bit more of a drop. The IS250 is looking like the best deal in terms of Residual/MF combination.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Hope you all had a restful holiday season. Honda 2011 lease rates are actually looking pretty good this month (with the Civic being an awesome deal still). A few models’ MF are a bit high (CR-Z), but that was the case last month as well, so no big surprise there. Overall, it looks good, with the CR-V looking pretty strong right now. Remember to inquire about any remaining 2010 models since there should be some left over (like the CrossTour) that should still lease well.

My Take: I know, the Monthly-Round was supposed to be my last post of the year, but I couldn’t help but look around at the Ford Edge’s lease rate’s since I plan to go test drive one next week. To my surprise, there’s what I found…

Not bad huh? This deal effectively qualifies the Edge as a “Missing the Cut” candidate, which is pretty impressive for a domestic brand. Now the debate isn’t really about whether this is a good deal or not. Instead, one has to ask oneself whether they really want to lease a $40k Ford Edge over a luxury brand. I will have that answer after I’ve driven it.

2011 Mazda Lease Rates – December 2010

My Take: I think Mazda’s leases are not bad this month. Not only is the residual value decent, the money factor is quite reasonable right now as well. This is a solid alternative to the Sonata Turbo, Honda Accord V6 or the Camry V6. It’s also got that “Zoom-Zoom” they like to market. I have leased/owned two Mazdas and I haven’t had too many problems with them if you care for them properly. They are driver-oriented vehicles with BMW-esque handling which should appeal to enthusiasts in need of extra passenger room.
