July 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Toyota Camry

2009 Toyota Camry 4dr Sedan LE
24 Month – Residual 67% of MSRP – .00136 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 60% of MSRP – .00136 Base Rate

* Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year. Add 2% to Residual for 12k mi/yr and 3% for 10k mi/yr on all terms
** Rates provided by Tarry Shebesta from Leasecompare.com

My Take: The sweet-spot for this lease is the 36-month lease. Monthly payments should range from $251+tax at invoice to $354+tax if leased at MSRP, plus inception (1st month + fees). As you can see, there is a good $100 range between invoice pricing and MSRP pricing. So the more you can knock-off, the better.

** Rates provided by Tarry Shebesta from Leasecompare.com

My Take I yanked the 48mo and 60mo leases out of the post because they are pretty bad. I think I will start doing that for all posts from now on. Most cars may yield lower monthly payments on a 48+ month lease, but the maintenance costs that come with driving a 4-year old car pretty much wipe out those savings. A quick glance pretty much tells me that Acura providing any lease support on the MDX, too bad because these SUVs are pretty sweet. You may want to wait until next month to see if the numbers improve.

July 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Nissan Altima

2008 Nissan Altima S Sedan
24 Month – Residual 64% of MSRP – .00087 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 55% of MSRP – .00087 Base Rate

* Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year. Add 2% to Residual for 12k mi/yr and 3% for 10k mi/yr on all terms
** Rates provided by Tarry Shebesta from Leasecompare.com

My Take The Altima’s 24-36mo leases are looking pretty decent right now. Remember that your residual value jump 2% from the posted numbers if you choose to go with the 12k mile yearly allowance instead of the 15k, which can save you substantial amounts of cash.

July 2008 Lease Rate for 2009 Nissan Maxima

2009 Nissan Maxima S
24 Month – Residual 70% of MSRP – .00250 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 59% of MSRP – .00250 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 48% of MSRP – .00270 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 41% of MSRP – .00270 Base Rate

2009 Nissan Maxima SV
24 Month – Residual 66% of MSRP – .00250 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 56% of MSRP – .00250 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 45% of MSRP – .00270 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 38% of MSRP – .00270 Base Rate

* Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year. Add 2% to Residual for 12k mi/yr and 3% for 10k mi/yr on all terms
** Rates provided by Tarry Shebesta from Leasecompare.com

My Take: Since the Maxima is all-new for the 2009 model year, don’t expect the lease rates to be low right now. I would give it a few months and see if they improve. I think there are other better alternatives on the road right now, like the Altima.

July 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Infiniti M35

48 Month – Residual 41% of MSRP – .00152 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 31% of MSRP – .00196 Base Rate

* Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year. Add 2% to Residual for 12k mi/yr and 3% for 10k mi/yr on all terms
** Rates provided by Tarry Shebesta from Leasecompare.com

My Take: The sale price on the M35 should be lower than invoice. At least that’s what some folks report. The MF is very low right now, but so is the residual. I haven’t been following the Ms much, so I can’t say for certain if this is the “Deal of the Year”. It certainly is worth inquiring about if you are looking for an alternative to the 5-series or the E-class.  If you live in So Cal, I can refer you to my local Infiniti guy.

36 Month – Residual 55% of MSRP – .00270 Base Rate

* Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year. Add 2% to Residual for 12k mi/yr and 3% for 10k mi/yr on all terms
** Rates provided by Tarry Shebesta from Leasecompare.com

My Take: Not the best MF right now. Buying isn’t look that much better since there isn’t any special financing available either. If you can afford to wait on the CR-V, I would recommend doing so.

July 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Honda Civic Si

2008 Honda Civic Coupe Si
24 Month – Residual 66% of MSRP – .00370 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 57% of MSRP – .00270 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 47% of MSRP – .00255 Base Rate

* Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year. Add 2% to Residual for 12k mi/yr and 3% for 10k mi/yr on all terms
** Rates provided by Tarry Shebesta from Leasecompare.com

My Take: Not exactly the best lease right now, specially for the 24mo term. I would wait, or simply buy it. Looks like most manufacturers are introducing very attractive financing options and rebates for purchase this time of the year.

July 2008 Lease Rate for 2008 Pontiac G8

2008 Pontiac G8 Sedan
24 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 59% of MSRP – .00208 Base Money Factor Rate
36 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 51% of MSRP – .00208 Base Money Factor Rate
48 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 40% of MSRP – .00208 Base Money Factor Rate

2008 Pontiac G8 GT Sedan
24 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 59% of MSRP – .00208 Base Money Factor Rate
36 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 51% of MSRP – .00208 Base Money Factor Rate
48 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 40% of MSRP – .00208 Base Money Factor Rate

* Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year. Add 2% to Residual for 12k mi/yr and 3% for 10k mi/yr on all terms
** Rates provided by Tarry Shebesta from Leasecompare.com

My Take: Looks like the rates improved ever so slightly over the last two months. Compare July’s numbers with the quote I got last May and you’ll see why:

36mo/10k – residual 56% – lease rate 5.5% (MF .00229)
36mo/12k – residual 54% – lease rate 5.5% (MF .00229)

The MF is .00021 lower and the residual only dropped by about 1%. You aren’t really saving much to be honest you with. Maybe $2. As impressed as I am with the G8 GT, I still think there are better options out there for the price. Maybe things will improve in the coming months.
