09 Ford Flex Lease Rate for December 2008

My Take: The Holiday Season is upon us! I hope most of you got your shopping out of the way by now. If not, good luck! As you already know, I will be out of the country visiting family for two weeks, returning January 10th. Until then, I leave you with the lease rates for the Ford Flex, which will be my last post of the year. I know, this isn’t exactly the best lease rate to leave you with, but this is all I could dig up before leaving. The good news is that there is $1000 rebate on this car, so going below invoice is certainly possible (it should shave about $30 off your monthly payment). I do have to hand it to Ford though, they have done a decent job positioning themselves to weather the economic storm. I can’t say the same for GM or Chrysler. GM should have sold off some of their divisions but you already know what they say about old dogs…Anyway, this is an old rant for the new year, so enjoy the Holiday Season!!! Feel free to post on the forums if you have questions, I know B sometimes pops in to share his knowledge and knows a lot about leasing cars. If I find internet connection, I might answer a few questions of my own if time permits. See you all next year and Happy Leasing!

09 Honda CR-V Lease Rates for December 2008

My Take: The money factor is a bit high on the CR-V, but that isn’t unexpected. The good news is that the residual value is very high and you probably don’t have to pay full MSRP for this car. Special financing is also available so be sure to take a look at that. I believe it’s 3.9% for up to 60 months. There’s a college graduate program as well, but it isn’t really worth mentioning since the APR is a bit high.

09 Infiniti FX35 and 08 Infiniti EX35 Lease Rates for Decemeber 2008

My Take: The FX35’s 24-month lease should be avoided at all costs. The 36-month is adequate for most lesses, while the 48-month lease nets the lowest monthly payment (around $50 less per month than the 36-month). It may seem like a better deal, but I can almost guarantee you that you will need to spend some money on tire replacements at the end of a 48-month lease, so that’s something to think about. The EX35 still seems to have decent residuals despite being an 08 model. The money factor is practically non-existant so that makes for a decent lease. This isn’t the best deal of the year however, July/August’s deals on the EX were probably the best ones of the year. There is $500 cash and another $5000 dealer cash that’s available, which should help drive down the price of the car significantly. I don’t think you’ll get the whole $5000 dealer cash (they won’t even combine it with the 0% APR and 0.9% financing), but the $500 shouldn’t be too hard.

09 Mazda CX-7 Lease Rates for December 2008

My Take: Mazda’s Top-of-the-Line CX-7 lease isn’t as great as the money factors would indicate. Back in May, I was offered a fully loaded CX-7 GT (FWD) which had a residual of 54%, but the money factor was lower at .00094 which wasn’t too shabby since all of the rebates helped cut down the upfront costs. Unfortunately, there aren’t any “rebates” to be had this month on the CX-7, so you pretty much have to rely on the dealer to dip way below invoice to make the deal worth your while. I still think $412+tax at invoice is a bit high considering you still have to pay for inception fees. Factor in the poor gas mileage this car gives and you probably want to think long and hard as to whether you REALLY want a CX-7 sitting on your driveway.

08 Infiniti G35 Lease Rates for December 2008

My Take: For the remaining 2008 G35 models, please do yourself a favor and AVOID 24-month leases. The sweet spot is the 36-month lease for the G35 (same is the case with the G37). This car are still worth leasing, so be sure to look them over before you get too excited about the 2009 models. There isn’t a huge difference in performance between the G35 and G37, at least not noticeable enough to justify the extra cost. In my case, I went with the G37 because I wanted a coupe. If you need a sedan, give the 2008 G35 a chance. I’m willing to bet that these rates won’t stick around past December. Infiniti’s G lineup is by far the best bang for the buck in the entry-level luxury department. The exterior is sleek and the interior is vastly improved from the previous generation G model. I will go as far as saying that the interior quality rivals, maybe even surpasses the BMW 3-series. In BMW speak, you get a car comparable to the 335i for the price of a 328i. Can’t beat that.

Something to note, the G35 actually does not require Premium gas, but the G37 does. If gas prices is factor in your car shopping decision, this should be taken into consideration. The G gulps gas, it does not sip, so the question is, do you want it to gulp premium or regular?

There is $1000 in dealer cash available and another $500 in loyalty cash. There is $3000 cash available for purchases only. 0% and 0.9% APR financing rates are available for up to 60 months.

08/09 Mazda CX-9 Lease Rates for December 2008

My Take: If you are shopping for a 7-passenger SUV and you are considering the CX-9, be aware that the 08 model will actually cost you more than the 09 model eventhough the sell price is lower. That’s thanks to a 5% lower residual value on the 08 vs the 09, so keep that in mind when you email your dealer. Also, be aware of the $1000 loyalty cash available to you if you are a previous Mazda owner. If you are looking to buy, there is 0% financing for up to 60 months on the 08 CX-9 and 1.9% APR on the 09 model for up to 60 months (0% for up to 36 months).

09 Acura TL and TSX Lease Rates for December 2008

My Take: Acura has improved their 2009 TL lease but that’s not the case on the TSX. You will see a significant drop on the monthly payments from Nov to Dec ($40-$50) due to the lower money factor. Is invoice price a reasonable sale price? I’m inclined to say yes on both the TL and the TSX. Personally, this is around what I feel the TL should lease for ($350-$400 range). As for the TSX? Nothing’s really changed other than the fact that you can negotiate a lower sale price. There is financing for 0% for up to 36 months and 2.9% for up to 60 months.
