logo_audi My Take: No offense to Audi FS, but last December’s numbers were better. Factor in the security deposit waiver, this month’s numbers look and the Q5 and Q7 aren’t look all that great right now. 2010 Audi A4, S4, A5, S5 Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_audi My Take: Wow, look at the MF on the A4! That’s insane! Just as an example, I’m going to pluck out the A4 Prem Plus Sedan and make work out a payment calculation. $35,825 MSRP, $33,375 invoice. Let us assume that invoice is doable and go with that as the sale price (if you can tap below that, more power to you). This would give us a monthly payment of $441 per month plus tax, with inception due at signing. The A4 Premium sedan’s payments are even better, sitting at $374+tax per month!!! What makes it better (than before) is that the non-quattro models got a 1% increase in residual value compared to last December, so the lease has become cheaper. Of couse, they were waiving the security deposit last year, so your upfront costs were a bit lower then. Still, security deposits are fully refundable, so not a big deal there. The Quattro models did get a drop in residual compared to last December (remember I skipped January so I am not comparing this month with last), but still look fairly attractive. The A5s are also looking good, with a drop in MF and an increase in residual for the 36-month term. The 24-month term did get a drop in residual, but you shouldn’t be looking at 24-month lease terms anymore since they cost a fortunre nowadays. S-trim models get a lower MF as well. It’s official, This is a GOOD TIME to get an Audi.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! As you all know, I will be going on vacation tonight and I will not be returning until the weekend of the 16th. This means that there will not be posting any lease rates until I return. I know you will miss having all the information all on one website, but don’t feel bad, you can still find it floating around the web. In any case, remember that the price tags for practically ALL BMWs are going up starting January 1st, so today IS your last day to snap up 2010 models for a lower price tag. The lease cash is still available on all BMWs right now so don’t sleep on this.

Other notable promotions that will also end come January 4th:

Lexus December to Remember (No idea what the deal is here)
VW (Sign-then-drive, waiving 1st monthly payment)
Audi (waiving security deposit)
Mazda (Sign-and-drive)
Infiniti (Limited Winter Engagement; really attactive lease numbers for the G37. 2010 G37s are coming next month, so the deal could be extended OR become less attractive)
Honda (Happy Honda Days; for the most part, the lease rates are pretty good on the more popular models like the Accord)
Toyota (Camry is a REALLY good deal right now)
Acura (The $1500 and $2000 rebates will probably disappear come January 5th on the TSX V6 with and without Tech).

Now before I head out, there will be some temporary changes that I plan to implement starting today.

New users cannot register in the forums. During my absence, I will be disabling the new user registration approving new users MANUALLY because I’ve been slammed with spammers these past couple weeks and I do not want to come back to a bunch of spammers peddling their viagra, cyalis, ringtones or webcam girls. Since I won’t be able to moderate the forums on a daily basis I felt this was the best option while I am away. New users will be approved upon my return.
Current users will still have access to the forums. This means if you have already registered, you can post as you please.
You may use this blog post as your general Q&A post. Since the blog part of the site handles spam much better than the forums, you may ask your questions here if you like. Just remember that using certain explicit language or hyper linking to other websites will get your comments flag as spam, so it would have to be approved manually.

logo_audi My Take: I am only posting these numbers because I felt like posting a picture of the R8. As far as the lease rates go, I would pass on both the A8 and R8. Too expensive, but I am sure some of you with businesses or deep pockets can afford it. 🙂

2010 Audi A3, A6, TT Lease Rates – December 2009

logo_audi My Take: Just like other Audi models, the A3, A6 and TT have the same 24 and 36 month lease rates as November, but a lower money factor for the 48-month term in December. My recommendation would be to stick with models that have high residual and low money factors if you can live with a more “stripped down” version (base models tend to have higher residuals and lower money factors). If you can’t, expect to pay a bit more for the extras. Either way, Audi lease rates for the A3 and A6 are not bad this month and you should be able to get the security deposit waived. The TT numbers rarely look good so I would look elsewhere unless you plan to buy.

logo_audi My Take: As expected, nothing really changed here as well, except the 48-month lease being slightly less that before. Please make sure to deal with a dealer that will disclose the lease rates because these things are essential in order to negotiate a fair price and payment. There are simply way too many factors in the lease formula, so you need to make sure to you cross-check those numbers. Even if you negotiate a sweet selling price, you could easily give up all those savings by getting suck with a crappy money factor or too many fees. Remember that dealer can and will sometimes pad the money factor or tack on extra fees to offset the lower selling price. Be on the look out for those things and always err on the side of caution.

logo_audi My Take: There’s is a slight change in the lease rates for the A5/S5 this month, however, if you are going with a 24 or 36 month lease, it won’t affect you. The change is strictly on the 48-month lease, which gets a drop in the money factor, making the 48-month lease a little cheaper than last month. Not that it really matters since you shouldn’t really be considering 48-month leases right now on ANY Audi due to wear and tear.
