logo_audi My Take: Looking for a fun summer cruiser? Keep looking. The TT’s numbers are less than desirable this month, so I would recommend passing on these. If you plan to buy however, it might not be so bad since you can probably get them at invoice. Unfortunately, I don’t seen any special financing available, so you going with your own bank or paying cash may be the better alternative.

logo_audi My Take: Hurray, more A6 3.0 are enjoying a .00005 money factor this month. By now, I don’t need to tell you what that means. Low residual values does make it hard to swallow, but you can probably bump up the residual a bit buy going with a 12k mile lease (adds 2% to your residual) plus AudiCare (adds 1% to your residual). That should save you some money in the long run. Stay clear from the Avants for now, they don’t look very good.

logo_audi My Take: The A3 isn’t a bad “lease-to-own” candidate due to the low residual value and low money factor. The money factor COULD be lower however, but I can’t complain too much. The one that stands out the most from the list is probably the 2009 Audi A3 2.0T quattro since it has the highest residual value and a sub .001 money factor, which is about 2% APR. Alternatively, you could go with any of the S-Lines and lower your yearly mileage allowance, that should give you a pretty decent monthly payment as well. If you are a current Audi owner, you should qualify for the $1000 loyalty cash that’s currently available on the A3.

logo_audi My Take: I’m seeing the same exact lease rates (as March) for April on the A4/A5/S4/S5. If you aren’t ready to pull the trigger on any of these cars this month, you may want to wait to see what May brings. The A5 is a bit cheaper than past months, but it could use a little bit more encouragement. Remember, no one has a crystal ball (I know I don’t) so I can’t predict whether things will improve of any of the following cars. One thing is for certain, residuals only go down, so if you see a car that already has a really low money factor, you should jump on it. You can only lower the money factor so much before monthly payments start going back up due to the loss in residual value.

logo_audi My Take: I think the Q7 is a good “lease-to-buy” candidate due to the low money factor and low residual value. No inceptives available on the Q7 other than “special” financing. I use the term losely because 4.9% for 60 months is FAR from special. More reason to lease first then buyout the lease if you intend to keep the car, right?

logo_audi My Take: Rather than scrapping all of the Audi TT’s lease rates, I decided to post them along with the following warning: The residual stinks, the money factor stinks. Lease with caution. Unless you are able to knock off a lot of cash off the sale price, I would not touch this lease with a 10-foot pole. I wasn’t a big fan of my last A4, so I highly doubt I’ll be visiting any Audi dealers in the coming years. Oh, if you are wondering why there aren’t any payment estimates, well that’s because I don’t think it’s worth the time in all honesty. Thanks for understanding.

logo_audi My Take: Low residual and Low Money Factor = Lease to Buy. Remember that. If you aren’t planning to buy it at lease end, then I would recommend the following: 1) Limit your miles (10k or 12k) so you can boost the residual value 2) Get AudiCare so you can get another 1% for residual value. 3) Knock off as much as you can off the MSRP of the car thru negotiation, rebates & dealer discounts. Speaking of rebates and discounts, there aren’t any on the A3 2.0T Premium Quattro. If you are looking buy, there is 2.9% financing for 60 months.

logo_audi My Take: No real incentives here on the A6, so you’ll have to rely on your might negotiation skills to get the deal you want. In my opinion, the A6 is more of a “lease to buy” candidate due to the low residual/low money factor combination. As I mentioned in the CL/CLK/CLS post, when most of your payments go towards the depreciation of a vehicle instead of the interest, you probably want to consider buying the car out at the end of your lease. You don’t have to, but it’s just a suggestion if you would like a “break” from lease payments.
