August 2008 Lease Rate for 08/09 Audi A5/S5

My Take: I’m having a hard time pinpointing a good deal here. The residuals are very low and the mf is extremely high making this car a very tough lease right now. This IS arguably the most elegant and sporty coupes out there at the moment, which explain the lack of support.

You are not likely to get invoice price here, which makes this car that much harder to lease at a reasonable price. Forget the 2008 model though, that one will lease worse because of the lower residual value and identical money factor. My recommendation is to buy if you are itching to be one of the few who drive the A5/S5. With that said, there is no special financing available, so you should try paying in full…sucks doesn’t it?

My Take: Good News! The A5 is a VERY sweet car. Bad News! The rates STILL suck. A5 looks sweetest in black. The accent lighting on the headlights makes the car look super-futuristic and gives off an “oooh-ahhhh” type of reaction, kind of like BMWs “Halo” lighting. It may take some months before we start seeing better lease rates on the A5. Hopefully, your lease isn’t expiring too soon if you are aiming for the A5. Just keep your eyes peeled on the rates every month, and the moment they drop to your price range, jump on it. That’s what I did with my G37 and I think I got the best deal of the year thus far.

My Thoughts: This car looks way better than the 3-series coupes in my opinion. Aggressive styling yet elegant. I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on that ride, but the rates, goodness…At this point even the residual is all speculation, so if I were a lessee, I would wait a few years for this model to “settle-down” at bit. Early adopters usually get shafted because Audi knows you will pay the price for this new toy.
