logo_audi My Take: I am addressing three solid Audi leases on this post. First, is the A3, which is sporting a pretty low money factor and decent residual. I recommend the A3 2.0T Premium Quattro. Audi is reknown for their Quattro system, so you just gotta have it, even if you don’t think you need. Just stay away from the 3.2 S-Line and you’ll be fine. There aren’t any major incentives right now other than the $1000 in loyalty cash for the A3. Moving on to the A6, I’m not a fan of this since I prefer the 5-series and the E-Class in terms of styling. Despite that, I cannot over look the super low money factors on the ~~3.2~~ 3.0 models. This is Audi’s way of telling you to borrow money from them for next to nothing. A6’s are notorious for big discounts too, so do your best to dip below invoice. Lastly, the Q5 is looking pretty decent so they are certainly worth a look as well. Check out these three vehicles on The List to get a feel for their monthly payment ranges. I’m not going to go out on a limb to say these guys are “must-haves”, because they are not. They just seem like better-than-usual deals, specially for an Audi.

logo_audi My Take: The A3 2.0T isn’t a bad lease this month the FWD models seem a bit better in terms of residual value and MF. Give these models a try if you don’t mind having a FWD. If you need the AWD, then you will probably have a to pay more. 2010 model rolls into showrooms this coming winter with a starting price of $32k. Ouch, not sure how Audi justifies these increases.

logo_audi My Take: Ever wonder which trim is the better deal for the A3s? If you are looking for the lowest payment, the base FWD model will probably be the best choice. Now, if you wanted to know what the best “deal” would be relative to the car you get, then you will need to play around with your lease calculator. The way to determine that is simple, all you need to do is assume that all trims of the A3 cost the same, say $30,000. Then just plug in the residual value and the money factor to the calculator and see which one yields the lowest payment. I’ve come to realize is that the more you play around with the calculator, the more you will understand the relationships between the numbers. I currently do not have any Audi dealers at the Dealerplace, so you can try using Yahoo! Autos to get free quotes from dealers in your area. Once the Dealerplace gets a few Audi dealers, I will announce it.

logo_audi My Take: The A3 isn’t a bad “lease-to-own” candidate due to the low residual value and low money factor. The money factor COULD be lower however, but I can’t complain too much. The one that stands out the most from the list is probably the 2009 Audi A3 2.0T quattro since it has the highest residual value and a sub .001 money factor, which is about 2% APR. Alternatively, you could go with any of the S-Lines and lower your yearly mileage allowance, that should give you a pretty decent monthly payment as well. If you are a current Audi owner, you should qualify for the $1000 loyalty cash that’s currently available on the A3.

logo_audi My Take: Low residual and Low Money Factor = Lease to Buy. Remember that. If you aren’t planning to buy it at lease end, then I would recommend the following: 1) Limit your miles (10k or 12k) so you can boost the residual value 2) Get AudiCare so you can get another 1% for residual value. 3) Knock off as much as you can off the MSRP of the car thru negotiation, rebates & dealer discounts. Speaking of rebates and discounts, there aren’t any on the A3 2.0T Premium Quattro. If you are looking buy, there is 2.9% financing for 60 months.

My Take: Looks like someone got himself a sweet ride and saved a bunch of money in the process! Nice job Nick! BTW, I don’t want your girlfriend fighting off crazy stalkers off you so I won’t be posting the pic of you next to your ride. LOL. Kudos to your girlfriend’s X3, I like the color!

09 Audi A3 Lease Rate for February 2009

My Take: Really low money factors can be had on the A3s this month. The residual on the other hand has been fairly low on this car for some time, so that’s not going to change any time soon. I recently got an email from Nick in MD who just picked up the A3 (very well equipped) for around $384/mo. So if my estimate is around $385 before taxes at invoice(on a base model might I add), just imagine what kind of discounts Nick go on his A3!!! That’s right, A LOT. There is also some special financing available, but the interest rate is not as good as the money factor on the lease. Be sure to check out the DO NOT LEASE section under this post on the A3 3.2 S-Line. If you plan to lease, stay AWAY from that car.

09 Audi Lease Rates for January 2009

My Take: Thank you all for your patience! Here are Audi’s January leases. If you can’t find the model you are looking for it’s probably because I’m planning to post them on the “DO NOT LEASE” list for January 2009. Again, some more bad news, residuals took a nose dive in January. Audi FS did try to compesate by cutting money factors, but I know for a fact that a .0006 point drop on the money factor cannot possible offset a 4% drop in residual value. Expect a pricier lease this month. No word on any cash rebates, but it might be possible to get a bit more of a discount on the sale price. If you are a current Audi FS customer, you are eligible for a $1500 rebate so be sure to take advantage of that if you are currently leasing an Audi through Audi FS.
