2011 Audi Lease Rates - February 2011

Happy Valentines Day everyone! Audi hasn’t changed their lease rates either, so if you were using last months numbers to calculate your payments, your estimates should still be the same.
Like I said last month, I’m still liking the A3. The money factor is just so low, it’s almost an interest-free loan. The sale prices have come down in my area (9% off MSRP), so even though the lease rates remain the same, the deal has improved compared to January. LeaseCompare is still providing a lost of fleet discounts, so if you can’t find a good deal on an Audi, you might want to give them a shot.

Hey there G, appreciate all the work here on leasing. Was wondering if you’ve ever ranked the cars by 3-yr residual value? I think that is the biggest swing factor in terms of how much car you can lease… Might be interesting to rank them by class. Looking at your monthly round-up, seems like in general the sweet spot for a high score is around 59-60%. I’m pretty bummed the A4 resid is so poor! Leads to a lower score than the 3-series.

  Thanks Brent. I haven’t ranked the cars based on residuals because a good deal still relies heavily on steep discounts and a reasonable money factor. Take the 2012 Volvo S60 I posted. 36-mo, 66% residual for 15k miles per year. Unfortunately, the MF is a bit high (.00198) and you probably aren’t going to get much of a discount on a car this new. Factor those things in and the deal just isn’t as great as it could be. I totally agree with you regarding Audis though. I find it tough to recommend anything beyond the A3 this month because everything else is just horrible. Horrible residual, so-so money factor and not a lot of discounts. In my case, I love the A5, but I am guessing that I will never get to lease one because the numbers are so high. This is why Infiniti is by far one of the best deals out there for entry-level luxury cars. Residuals are great, money factors are pretty decent and they sell for a lot less than BMW or Audi.

Yeah good points G. The infinti sure seems like responsible leasing choice in the class but the Audi and BMW would be awesome! I have leased A4 and 325x in the past (my TL lease is up this summer) and I have to say they sure were fun cars. The premium over the Infiniti will be hard to stomach this time around though. Ugh.

  @brent. I agree with you. My 325i was a lot of fun to drive. My A4 was also pretty good (love the AWD), minus the subpar 1.8T engine. Yeah can’t seem to justify paying a premium for the BMWs and Audis of the world since cash is tight and there are plenty of great options out there as well.
