My Take: Looks like MBZ is pushing for some sales this month as well. They have dropped the money factor on the C300s and kept the residuals the same. The savings should be quite significant compared to last month. The E sedans also have a reduced money factor, not so on the coupe. The CLS550 got a major reduction in MF (from 0.00260 to 0.00023) due to the fact that the 2012 model is getting a major face-lift. There are other MF reductions as well, so be sure to look over them. Lots of savings to be had this month. I get the feeling MBZs might make an appearance in theĀ Round-Up later this month.
Here’s a quick post on 2010 C300 lease rates for those looking at 2010 Cs.

Lease rates provided by LeaseCompare.com
Hi Ya G :
could you give me your opinion on this deal:
2010 E350 Sport with Prem 2 package
39 months , 12k miles per year
Residual: 54%
MF: .00260
MSRP: $55,825
Purchase price: $48,004
Total out of Pocket: $2,500
Payment: $678.83 including taxes
ScottH, what are you looking at? coupe or sedan? From just looking at the MF and residual, this car looks like a buy more than a lease. Since you are paying about 6.24% in interest, it amounts to around $7900 over the life of the lease. The discount you got from the dealer is almost as much, so you are basically looking at the interest eating up all of the savings you got off the MSRP. You may also want to check out the 2011s, the residual is higher, so that could save you some money if you can get a good sale price.
Hi G,
I have been waiting for your post on the 2011 C class since I saw the national offer from MB on September 1st. Given the current MF and residuals, do you think that this month is the best time to lease a 2011 C 300 or the rates may become even better at the end of the year?
Thanks
Marz, the truth is that it’s difficult to predict these types of things. If sales are slow for MB this month, they may extend these numbers and throw some cash at the car in October. Or they could keep things the same until Oct and drop the MF and throw cash at the car for Nov/Dec, just in time for the holiday season. August was a tough month for many manufacturers, so I am not too surprised to see improved leases for this month. But that could change if they have a good September. I will say this though, a well equipped C300 with P1 would run around the mid-$400s with inceptions due at signing, that in itself is a “deal”, but it isn’t half bad. If I had to guess, I think Oct will remain the same as this month, with Nov/Dec residuals and MF dropping a bit more. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see some dealer cash being introduced. But keep things in perspective, this month’s lease rates are probably the best ones we’ve seen all year, the problem is that dealers are probably not discounting the 2011 C300s as much right now.
Hi G:
It is a sedan with big marketing support closing out the 2010’s. Yes the residual is a bit lower and MF higher but sales is telling me #’s do not compare. As is, what do you think of the deal?
ScottH, I think it’s an okay lease. Then again, the E350 was never a “deal” to begin with. Probably not what you want to hear, but that’s usually what happens when you put a “bad thing” (high money factor) and a “good thing” (low sale price) together. What you are basically doing is leasing the car at no interest rate, but paying full MSRP as the sale price.
G, thanks a lot for your response. It is better for me to wait at least until Dec since my current lease will be ended in January. Using a number of websites. I found that my local dealers currently sell this car for $2800 below MSRP. Given the current MF and residual for a 27 month lease and 10K/year, a fully loaded C300 with an MSRP around 44K would run below mid 400s with 2500K down payment. The problem is I’m not sure how to approach the dealer to get the discount. They usually tell you that this is a cash price and it is not available for lease.
Is this 27 month term always available( I mean only the lease term)? or they only use it when they have to boost sales.?
Marz, you probably want to just flat out ask the dealer if he/she will do it for the sale price you want. Check out the MB post in the forums for more discussion on this topic.
I will say this though, It isn’t uncommon for MB to not allow massive discounts on 2010 models towards the end of the year. This is because the bank does not want to discount you so much and then have you return the car at the end of the lease. Dealers generally do not lie to you regarding whether the rebates and factory discounts are applicable to leases, so I would take their word for it. The 27-month leases i see are uncommon, so I’ve only seen it during promotions. Remember residual values fluctuate throughout the year, so sometimes leasing on a 27-month term doesn’t make sense. Now $2800 below MSRP on a 2010 is not all that much. You can get over $3000 off MSRP on a fully loaded 2011 C300, which has far better lease rate. Now, if you meant $2800 below INVOICE, then that might be challenging to get. Here’s my recommendation…If you plan to get into a 2010, buy the car. You can secure your own financing and take full advantage of the massive discounts because your bank will then pay in full and finance you the car. If you plan to lease, I would get a 2011. Since your lease doesn’t expire until January, you can take a chance and wait to see if Nov/Dec numbers improve. But as I mentioned before, that’s a risk you have to be willing to take.
Since you can now get a 2010 for $4K below invoice including the marketing support, any idea what the mf and residual are for a 3/45k lease on a 2010?
