2010 VW Jetta, Tiguan, Passat, CC Lease Rates – February 2010

Update: Had a chance to visit the VW dealer today. Didn’t get much in terms of numbers since we were doing test drives. But I did manage some numbers on the CC Luxury, which was the only thing they had for CCs. I also dropped in the Tiguan Wolfsburg for those who need it. Jetta TDIs are not going to be in production this year, instead, only the Cup Edition will be available. Wife really liked the Jetta Wolfsburg and I can’t really disagree. 2.0T engine, media center, leather interior, moon roof, allow wheels, all under a MSRP of 25,000. Can’t complain there. One issue I have right now is that I am noticing dealer trying to force “dealer addons” onto the cars to make extra profit. The local Subby and VW dealer was adding security window etching for an extra $995, which provides you with “coverage” should your car is stolen. I got one word for that, “LAME”. There is no way in hell I’d spend nearly $1k for that.

My Take: I spent a lot of time today hitting the phones in order to get some numbers and I managed a few. The Tiguan is a very strong lease right now, with a $308 plus tax per month payment with inception due at signing. The assumption is that the MSRP is $26k and the sale price is invoice or around $24.6k. Sure, its not fully loaded, but it’s a cheap lease if you don’t mind me saying. There’s a possibility that the lease rates are going to change March, so keep that in mind. Now there’s a issue with availability around these parts, specially regarding the Jetta TDI and the CC Sport. I will call around other deals and provide you with an update at a later date.

  1. Thanks, G. I’m looking into a VW (Tiguan or CC) right now, so any further rates would be really appreciated. Thanks for all that you do!

    • @andrew. I will be making more calls today and visiting some dealers this weekend as well. Will post what I find after that.

@B. Haahaa. Thanks for the pic! It helps keep the website colorful. Hehe.

  2. G-

I am also in the market for a Tiguan (Wolf & SEL) or a CC (Sport & Lux).

Any additional rates would be greatly appreciated.

  3. holy crap, lots of tiguan interest! i’d like any info on the rebate issue, if you’re able to dig it up G. the wolf__ version is right in our sweet spot. thanks man!

  4. I think the wolfsburg 4-motion residual is a bit higher (51%?). I might note that the sunroof is another $1,000. The sticker on the 4-motion basically starts at $30k…the payments are still gonna be 400 per month before taxes. Not exactly cheap, because premium fuel and mediocre gas mileage too. I can’t find a better lease in the category though (excluding the boring CRV or all the issues that surround the RAV).

    • @brent. Looks like that’s only available on the SE model and up. The S trim didn’t have it. Interesting, I will follow up on this, but it looks like you are correct.

  5. what a deal !!! only 1k for window etching. AAA charges $25 so the etching must be real purty at the VW dealer. We have enough dealers in the area so removing the pack charges is easy if you’re ready to deal. If your just shopping they play games. Do the whole deal online with the internet mgr — should be painless once you know what you want.
