09 Lexus IS Lease Rates – June 2009

logo_lexusMy Take: The IS250 Auto and AWD are probably the two best leases in the IS line up. Money factor is low and residual is high. Not only does this make a good lease, it also makes it good enough to buy out at lease end. The ISF and IS350 are slightly less desireable due to the low residual values and high money factors. The IS250 Auto & AWD are a VERY good deal month actually. Invoice price (or maybe slightly lower) should be attainable in certain areas with solid competition. It certainly doesn’t carry the “LEASE ME NOW” tag that the MB C350 has had for the past few months, but it is certainly not too far off. Personally, I would still pony up for the IS350 over the IS250. The MF isn’t all that bad at .00110. The residual does suck a bit, but nothing a lower yearly mileage allowance can’t fix.

  1. HI G

any current numbers on the IS? Interested to know what happened to the residuals for August

    Thx

    • @spicy mikey. Lease rates should be showing up around 2nd week of the month. As of today, July lease rates still apply.

  2. Thanks G. I was at a Lexus dealer yesterday trying to do a deal on an IS250 for my daughter. Best I could get out of them was $563 for a 15/36. I thought they could do much better and said I wanted $500. They said no deal. Wanted to see if the residual had dropped substantially. I was surprised they let me walk, but then again, it’s early in the month. I’m expecting a phone call from them later on and want to know what their bottom line is before I go to Round 2.

    • @wow $563. sounds awfully expensive Mikey. Are all the fees being rolled into the loan? I would expect a very well equipped IS250 to only go for well under $500 month with inception due at signing. Might want to try to extract some info from the dealer regarding prices, fees and rates.

  3. I agree. That’s why I walked away. it was a Saturday and the place was full. They got to confident 🙂 They called back today and we did the deal;
    $38900 MSRP (loaded up IS250)
    – They threw in wheel locks, trunk tray, mudguards
    -36m/15k
    $1200 inceptions (paid up front)
    $518 tax inc.

    • @mikey. soooooo, not that you got a great ride and a pretty good price for it, when do we get to see the pics? 🙂 I still need the 1st lexus on the wall! lol

  4. No problem. I’ll send you the details. I think the .0004 MF is good through Sept 7. It’s hard to pass up especially if you can get at or close to invoice. Total finance cost was $1040 for 3 years!

    • @mikey. nice. the mf is great. I bet the residual a bit low though. still, this could end up being a lease-end buy. looking forward to the info/pics!

  5. Hi…
I am new to this forum and I find it very informative!

I recently contacted the Internet Dept for lexus here in So Cal to request for a quote for 09 Lexus IS 250. Here is what my contact provided me:

Automatic IS 250 (no navi) – MSRP – $34,475 which includes:

Premium Package: Heated & Ventilated Front Seats, Wood Interior Trim, Leather Seat – $ 840
Accessory Package: Trunk Mat, Cargo Net, Wheel Locks, rear Bumper Applique – $286

    _______________

They offered me @ $30,350 (invoice price)+ tax & title fee.
    36/12k

Is that a good deal? I did not provide them with my downpayment info as of yet. Im planning $1500 – $2000 for downpayment. How do I go about with my counter offer with them?

    Thanks

    • @dee. Pricewise, I think the deal is sound. The spread between MSRP and invoice is around $3500. You got around $600 more. Which is a good place to start. Just so that we are clear. Lets refer to your “down payment” as the “drive-off”. Typically, the down payment is referred to as the “cap cost reduction”, which is a big no-no in my book. Next, you need to find out what the money factor and residual values are. You cannot cut a deal without know these numbers. We don’t negotiate payments here. We negotiate fees, sale prices and we confirm the money factors and residuals. Why? simple, you reduce the sale price and the fees, your payments automatically drop. It is much easier to identify a fair sales prices, fees, money factors and residuals. Not as easy to identify what your payments should be since they fluctuate from month to month. Some months, $450 is the lowest attainable price, other months its $480 or $500. That is why I need to make sure anyone that asks me if a deal is fair or not understand the nature of how payments can fluctuate. With that said, Spicy Mikey got the following lease rates for his daughter’s IS250 in FL. Residual (50%). Money Factor: 0.0004 (0.96%). Double check if that is what your dealer is using. Don’t worry about down payments and counter offers just yet. Confirm the numbers first. Find out what drive-off fees are being charged and we can go from there. please check back in once you get that information so we can analyze this further.

  6. Hi G.. I was able to get the info in regards to my possible lease vehicle. The dealership ran the numbers for me.

Total Drive off: $950 (On approved credit)
    Money Factor: .00040
    Residual: 50%

Automatic IS 250 (no navi) – MSRP – $34,475 which includes:

Premium Package: Heated & Ventilated Front Seats, Wood Interior Trim, Leather Seat – $ 840
Accessory Package: Trunk Mat, Cargo Net, Wheel Locks, rear Bumper Applique – $286

    _______________

They offered me @ $30,350 (invoice price)+ tax & title fee.
    36/12k

I am planning to go there later today or tomorrow.
    Any last minute advise?

    • @dee. sorry for the late advice. I was out of town. Anyway, I think it looks good. Looks to me you are rolling in some fees, but the money factor is low enough so it shouldn’t be a big deal. Hopefully you pulled the trigger on this.
