My Take: If we are talking straight up lease rates, then the X6 5.0i has the best combination of money factor and residual for all Xs. To answer Don’s question, the MF isn’t 0.00121. As a matter of fact, in order to get the base rate of 0.00175, you have to have fantastic credit AND put a security deposit of $700. By the way, where did you get 0.00121 from? Finance APR? FYI, APR offers are for purchases, not leases, so they don’t translate to the same thing. $2500 + $1750 off MSRP is probably doable thought. You are still looking at $900 payments after taxes with just inception fees. You will need to drop a whopping $4000-$5000 down in order to bring down the payments to the advertised, $699+tax BMWUSA.com is promoting.

Thanks for replying G. I called my local dealer and you are right .00175 is the best rate. I still can’t figure out what they are doing on that bmwusa.com deal they have posted – maybe I’m missing something else that is reducing cap cost: (from the site)
MSRP: $69,675
Loyalty Cash: ($1,750)
Down pmt: ($4,750)
Net Cap Cost: $63,175
Residual – 61% or $42,502
If you plug in .00175 for MF you get a payment of $759 before tax.
When I plug in 2.9% (same as finance rate) or .00121 I coincently come up with the advertised payment of $699 which I why I asked the question as I’m off about 2 grand over the course of the lease. Thanks again for your help G!
There needs to be some dealer contribution to make this happen. You see, at this point, the dealer is not lowering the price of the vehicle at all. Instead, it is the mfg that offers the loyalty cash and you pay down the rest. Essentially the dealer would have to contribute about $2000 in order to put you at around $699 per month + tax. Generally speaking, advertised deals suck. They require way too much upfront and doesn’t really take in consideration certain markets were dealers are willing to discount more.
Here’s a scenario for you…Assuming I was the one shopping for this car, this is what I would shoot for…
MSRP $70,675
Invoice $65,055 (thats invoice)
Loyalty 1750 (assuming i qualify)
Net Cap $63,305
RV 61%
Term 36mo
Monthly $747+tax
Inception fee would be 700 deposit + dmv, + bank acq + 1st payment + tire tax, which should roughly add up to about $2500 or so. If you wanted to put more money down (which I don’t recommend), you could do so to bring down the payments.
